Head Chef

Job description

Key Responsibilities

- Take the lead and work closely with the owner on creating thoughtful and well-structured menus.
- Keep the menus seasonal, interesting and appealing in line with customer trends.
- Responsible for offering consistently outstanding quality food that meets and exceeds customers' expectations.
Accountable for the operation of Back of House and day-to-day kitchen management.
- Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage food ordering, preparation, delivery and stock control.

- Conform to health and safety regulations.

- Maintain the highest food hygiene standards.
- Lead, manage, coach, train and develop the kitchen team.
- Involve in kitchen staff recruitment.
- Coordinate with Front of House.

 

Experience, Knowledge and Competency

- Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience as a head chef in fresh food restaurants, with a proven track record of running a professional kitchen.

- Experience and knowledge of Asian cuisine are essential.

- Experience in fine dining will be a great advantage.
- Strong menu development and costing skills.
- A history of staff training and team development.

- Must be a professional and hands-on chef, with an approachable personality, a can-do attitude and a brilliant work ethic. 
- Have respect for people and be able to work in a team.
- Embrace and live by the restaurant's values.

Salary

- Up to £48,000 per year
