Reservation info

A valid payment card is required to secure your reservation. Please note, your card will not be charged at the time of booking; it is solely for guarantee purposes. All card information will be stored securely.

A deposit will be required at the time of reservation for certain days such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Christmas Day.

 

An advance payment is required for special items such as wagyu, black cod, tomahawk steak, surf and turf.​​​​​

We have a 15 minute grace period. Please call us on 01223 501776 as soon as possible if you are running late. If we are having a busy service and you arrive late, we will do our best to serve your food as soon as possible. Because we want to be fair to everyone, priority will go to the tables who arrived on time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dress code

Most of our guests follow a smart casual dress code but we don't impose any restrictions.

We kindly ask for no sportswear (track pants or hoodies) to be worn.

Children

Sole & Duck is a family-friendly restaurant.

For us to make necessary arrangements and provide an enjoyable dining experience for all guests, it is essential that you inform us in advance if you are coming with children aged 11 and under, and if they need a highchair, booster seat and pushchair space at the table etc. We may not be able to accommodate you without prior notice.

Please include young children, toddlers and babies in the number of guests when making your reservation. For example, for 2 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby, please make a reservation for 4 guests.

Dogs

Dogs are very welcome in the garden.

We are afraid they are not allowed indoors.

Cake

We do not operate on a bring-your-own-cake policy. We can supply our own housemade celebration cakes for special occasions. Our chefs make cakes to order, from £50 per cake. Please contact us at least three days in advance via hello@soleandduck.co.uk if you are interested.

Wine

We offer a hand-picked selection of fine wines and a carefully selected range of wines from the old world to the new world, from popular varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir to lesser-known indigenous grapes such as Italian Carricante and Spanish Bobal.

 If you have a special bottle at home, you are welcome to bring it to the restaurant subject to a corkage fee of £30 per 750 ml bottle. Kindly inform us in advance.

Summer time

We have a few tables in the garden for alfresco dining or drinks from late Spring to early Autumn, weather permitting. Garden reservations do not guarantee indoor tables if the weather changes. We always do our best to accommodate.

​

The restaurant is now equipped with air conditioning units to keep diners comfortable when dining indoors during the hot summer months.
